Setting up the router

 

   For remotely MultiCam from the Internet, you need to configure your router. This operation is done in 2 steps described below.

 

Step 1: Give a static IP address to your computer.

                   Give a static IP address. Windows Vista

                   Give a static IP address. Windows XP

 

Step 2: Configure the router.

Step 1: Give a static IP address to your computeur:

This step is necessary so that your PC always have the same local address. You will find below the procedure for Windows Vista and Windows XP.

If you follow the instructions, this step will not be you pose problems.

Give a static IP address on Windows Vista:

1: Click on Start.

2: Enter ncpa.cpl

3: Press Enter.

1: Right-click on the icon of your active connection.

2: Click onStatute.

On this window, click on Details.

Please note the values of 3 elements:

1: IPv4 IP Adress.

2: IPv4 Default gateway.

3: IPv4 DNS Server. (There may be 2 values. In this case, note the 2 ones)

Ignore the lines that start with IPv6.

 

With the left example, we note:

IP Adress:    192.168.1.2

Gateway:     192.168.1.1

DNS Server:  192.168.1.1

Go back to the first window, then:

 

1: Right-click on the icon of your active connection.

2: Click on Properties.

1: Select line: Internet protocol version 4(TCP/IPv4).

2: Click on Properties.

3: Check the box: Use the following IP address:

 

4: Complete these lines with the values you have noted earlier:

IP Adress:

Enter the value of the IP address you have noted.

Subnet mask:

This party is filled met alone with a simple clic.

Default Gateway:

Enter the value that you have noted for the default gateway.

 

 

5: Complete these lines as indicated below:

DNS preferred:

Enter the value that you have noted for the first DNS server.

DNS auxiliary:

If you have neted a second DNS server, note it here, otherwise leave this empty line.

 

6: To complete the first stage, click OK.

    Go to Step 2 in the bottom of the page

 

 

Give a static IP address on Windows XP:

 

Démarrer

1: Click on Start.

2: Click on Run

Executer

1: Enter ncpa.cpl

2: Click on OK

2: Click on Details.

Step 2: Setting up the router

 

The appropriate procedure is generally as follows:

On Internet Explorer type the following address: http://192.168.1.1 (This connects to your router)

Enter the username and password if asked.(It provided by your ISP Access)

Click on Advanced.

Depending on your router, click on: Virtual server or NAT ou NAT configuration rule, or equivalent function.

Click on Add.

 

At this stage, you should be on a window, which asks you to enter some parameters.

The parameters are:

Some router may ask you to choose a service or software (whose parameters are already in memory) from a menu: In this case, you can tick a box allowing you to use another service or software. You must check this box and give a name for the service or program. Enter "Multicam"

The port which must be redirected: Depending on your router asks for a port or a range of port. If it ask you enter a port, enter 8080 and if you are asked a range of port (port beginning, end port, port beginning interior, exterior etc.) enter 8080 in each cases.

A protocol: Choose TCP.

An IP address: This is the address of the PC which is installed in Multicam. At this point enter the IP address that you have noted earlier.
